The Action Peoples Party (APP) Senatorial Candidate for Owerri Zone, Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi, has reaffirmed his commitment to the empowerment of Imo women, describing them as indispensable builders of homes, pillars of support and agents of positive change in families and communities.
Dr. Amadi made the declaration while participating in a series of August meetings and community engagements across Owerri Zone, where he donated a brand new car to the APP State Woman Leader, Mrs. Nneka Chukwu, and provided a total of N15 million in support of skill acquisition and healthcare development projects in Utulu, Aguneze, Ahiazu Mbaise, and Logara in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area.
At his campaign office along Okigwe Road, Owerri, before proceeding to the August meeting of the Utulu Development Union Women Wing in Ahiazu Mbaise, Dr. Amadi presented a brand new car to Mrs. Nneka Chukwu in recognition of her commitment and commendable leadership in guiding and mobilising Imo women across the three Senatorial Zones and twenty seven Local Government Areas.
Presenting the vehicle, Dr. Amadi said he would continue to empower Imo women and encourage skill acquisition, assuring them of his unwavering support in their efforts as builders of homes and pillars of support in their families and communities.
He expressed concern over what he described as the glaring absence of government presence in many communities, noting that the situation had adversely affected the economic wellbeing of the people, particularly women, whom he described as hardworking and industrious.
At the Utulu Development Union Women Wing August meeting, the Umuekwene, Ngor Okpala born erudite scholar and renowned philanthropist donated N7 million towards the completion of the union's skill acquisition centre. The project had earlier received N10 million from him at its commencement in 2025.
Dr. Amadi urged the women and community development leaders to remain committed to acquiring skills that would enable them to become self reliant, contribute meaningfully to their families and play greater roles in the development of society.
He assured the mammoth crowd at the meeting that, if elected as the next Senator representing Owerri Zone on January 16, 2027, he would be in a hurry to wipe away the tears of the poor and change the narrative through effective representation, empowerment and people oriented development.
At Aguneze, Ahiazu Mbaise, Dr. Amadi commended the Women Wing of the Aguneze, Ahiazu Mbaise Development Union for its steadfastness, resilience and continued support for community development projects.
He stressed that women are indisputably agents of change across the world because of their indispensable contributions to the growth and development of families and communities.
In support of the ongoing development efforts of the women, Dr. Amadi donated N3 million and charged them to maintain the momentum in their community development initiatives.
The August meeting train later moved to Logara Community Hall in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, where the President General of the town union, Chief Barr. Martin Opara, Chief Bon Nlemadim, the Member Representing Aboh Mbaise, Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Attorney Dr. Mathew Nwogu, and other prominent community leaders welcomed Dr. Amadi.
The community leaders praised him for keeping faith with his people, particularly the communities in Ngor Okpala, and for his continued philanthropic interventions and support for grassroots development.
In appreciation of his philanthropy and goodwill, a notable woman leader in the community, Hon. Mrs. Livina Dikeocha, alongside dozens of her followers, defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Action Peoples Party (APP), the political platform of Dr. Amadi.
They pledged to embark on aggressive sensitisation and mobilisation across Ngor Okpala to support and deliver the APP Senatorial Candidate, whom they described as qualified and prepared to represent Imo East Senatorial District effectively at the National Assembly.
Responding to the warm reception and development efforts of the Logara women, Dr. Amadi (Mazi Gburugburu), donated N5 million towards the ongoing construction of an ultra modern healthcare centre being undertaken by the leadership of the Logara Women Association, led by Lolo Nkechi Amadi.
Lolo Nkechi Amadi expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi for his intervention and for coming to encourage and support the women in their efforts to improve the welfare of their families and community.
