DR CHIMA MATTHEW AMADI REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SERVICE, SUPPORTS CHURCHES AND FAMILIES WITH MILLIONS IN DONATIONS

The senatorial candidate of the Action People's Party (APP) for Imo East Senatorial District, Dr Chima Matthew Amadi, on Sunday continued his engagement with faith-based communities as he worshipped with congregants at St. Benignus Catholic Church and later attended the First Session of the 12th Synod of the Diocese of Mbaise at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, Mbaise.

At St. Benignus Catholic Church, the Parish Council Chairman warmly welcomed Dr Amadi and expressed gratitude for his consistent support and numerous contributions to the growth and development of the parish over the years.

While addressing the congregation, Dr Amadi apologised for arriving late to the church service, and went further to state that he is engaged in what he described as a movement for the liberation and betterment of society.

According to him, the mission is centred on creating opportunities to serve the people and improve the living conditions of communities across Imo State.

"We are all human beings and citizens of this state. We can all see what is happening around us. Insecurity has remained a major challenge, and many people are afraid to stay outside their homes beyond a particular time of the day. We continue to pray that God grants us the opportunity to help our people and bring positive change to society," he said.

Demonstrating his commitment to humanitarian service and community development, Dr Amadi announced several donations to support the church and members of the community.

He donated ₦2 million to St. Benignus Catholic Church to assist in its activities and development projects. He also extended financial support to the family of the late Chikwueze with a donation of ₦1 million.

In recognition of the role of music ministry in the church, Dr Amadi donated ₦1 million to the church choir for distribution among its members and an additional ₦500,000 to support their activities. He further empowered the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) with a donation of ₦3 million.

During his remarks, Dr Amadi formally informed the congregation of his decision to contest for the Imo East Senatorial seat under the platform of the Action People's Party (APP), pledging to continue his service to the people and advocate for policies that would improve their welfare.

Later, Dr Amadi proceeded to St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, Mbaise, where he participated in the First Session of the 12th Synod of the Diocese of Mbaise.

Addressing the gathering, he expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Diocese for the invitation, describing it as a privilege and honour to be part of the important ecclesiastical gathering.

"I am deeply grateful to the Diocese of Mbaise for this invitation. It is an honour for me to be here and to share in this important occasion with the church," he stated.

As part of his support for the church's mission and development efforts, Dr Amadi announced a donation of ₦20 million to the Diocese, drawing applause and appreciation from members of the congregation.

The visits further underscored Dr Amadi's longstanding relationship with faith communities and his commitment to supporting religious institutions, community development initiatives, and vulnerable families across Imo State.
